About Me
In 2008 my life was turned upside-down. I was a 31 year old mother of two young kids that were 8 and 10 years old. My husband and I had just taken over a church as the Senior Pastor's. I was trying to be supermom, super wife, super pastor.....I think that you are getting the idea. I ended up having a mental breakdown. I spent a year not hardly being able to get out of my bed, leave my room or my house. I was having one panic attack after another. I went from the women who did everything to the woman who couldn't even parent her own kids. I spent the next three years of my life trying to get back on my feet and figure out who I was and what I wanted to do. At my worst, I thought that the woman I was would never be seen again. I thought I was permanently broken.
Psalms 91 says "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation."
I now live what I like to call "The Secret Place" lifestyle. I promised myself that if I ever got my life back that I would live it with no regrets. I learned that most of the things that I thought that were important before my mental breakdown actually meant nothing to me. I found out that being a present mom was more important than any kind of career success I thought that I needed. I learned there are hobbies out there that are better than working and that there is only one way to live, present. Here I hope to share that lifestyle with you and inspire you to live now without having to have a crisis in your life to get the revelation. Come join me and live from the Secret Place.
